What happens on our courses?

The Fire Tech curriculum team works tirelessly to design new and innovative programmes that give students the best possible experience. That means:

AN INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE: We give students real-time teaching and constant support, while using interactive digital tools like video calls, collaborative whiteboards, and screen sharing. What better way to learn about technology than to use it?

LEARN THROUGH PLAY: kids love our courses because they learn through play. Activities and games are scheduled into the day, and we also include sunshine breaks and movement activities to make sure students do not sit for long periods.

EXCITING CONVERSATIONS: Kids are naturally curious. We love to prompt conversations that help them understand the world around us and develop critical thinking. We might look at examples of how modern companies use robots or wonder how Pac Man got its shape.

NEW FRIENDSHIPS: real human connection has been a big part of why kids are enjoy our courses. In between lessons, they might introduce their pets, talk about the posters in their room or just show their colourful personalities.

Myrto

Myrto is in her last year of her PhD at Cambridge University. Her area of research is using computational tools to study infectious diseases. She finds working at Fire Tech extremely rewarding, and loves helping children deal with complex issues in creative ways.

Marie

Marie recently graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Physics. Maries main interest lies in machine learning and she wants to help the Fire Tech kids reach their full potential and have a passion for STEM subjects!

Malav

Malav studied MA/MSc in Innovation Design Engineering at Royal College of Art and Imperial College and has been with Fire Tech for more than 5 years. He is the founder of a startup developing robotic prosthetic socket and his proudest achievement is to be listed as Forbes 30 Under 30 in Europe AND India in 2017-18 - simultaneously!

Guy

Guy is currently a Computer Science undergraduate at Newcastle University. His key areas of interest include programming, machine learning and algorithm design. Guy loves teaching kids complex concepts, so they are able to write programs that they would never have thought possible!
